THE VIOLENT VANISHING ACT

THE STATEMENT – This piece emerged from my need to confront how disturbingly routine school shootings have become. It serves both as a jarring visual interruption and an expression of my own empathetic exhaustion and frustration. By using simplified, stick‑figure forms for both the child and the personified United States, I wanted viewers to see themselves reflected in the work and to recognize that gun violence touches everyone, especially those who are most vulnerable.
